St. George’s Day Celebrations

Our celebration will start on the field behind the Black Bull on Lindley with a big game for Squirrels, Beavers and Cubs. They will be joined by Scouts and Explorers. The Squirrels will leave us and the rest of us will make our way to Birchencliffe Community Centre, for renewal of promises and presentations, before the Beavers and Cubs depart. Scouts and Explorers will then have a quiz and pizza.

Timings

18:00 – Squirrels, Beavers and Cubs arrive on the field behind the Black Bull
18:45 – Scouts and Explorers arrive, Squirrels leave the event
19:00 – Walk to Birchencliffe
19:15 – Renewal of promises and presentations at Birchencliffe Community Centre
19:45 – Beavers and Cubs collected
20:00 – Scout/Explorer quiz and pizza
21:00 – Event ends

Full uniform to be worn please. Flags optional but preferred.

Wet weather

We’re aware of the poor weather forecast for Friday. It’s a Scout event and we would hope to go ahead but will take a view on the day, announcing any changes to plans here. Please ensure young people bring coats and appropriate footwear.

Risk assessments

A specific risk assessment has been written for the treasure hunt. In addition existing risk assessments for wide games and activities in Scout huts apply. DDC Programme and the team putting the event on will monitor risks and act accordingly during the event.
